2021 President Joan FitzGerald

2021 Captain Pat Brown

Representing Craddockstown Golf Club as Captain this year, 2021, is a great honour and privilege.

I reflect on just how far our Club has come in the last 30 years. From our humble beginnings in Four Lakes Golf Club, to purchasing our own land and producing a wonderful, members-owned championship golf course, here at Craddockstown. As a founder member, I was delighted to have served on so many committees over the years. I was elected as Hon Secretary from 1993 to 1995, Vice-Captain in 1996, and then Captain in 1997.

I continued to serve on many more committees over the following years and was privileged to become Club President in 2005. Following that, I served as a trustee for 5 years up to 2019.

Another contribution to the club, which I am particularly proud of was when I acted as Project Manager for the construction of our award-winning Clubhouse, with its spectacular views of the course.

We are particularly fortunate to be located on the Blessington Road, less than a mile from the lovely town of Naas, Co Kildare.

Craddockstown Golf Club has a wonderful reputation for our hospitality and friendly atmosphere so you can be sure of a warm welcome before enjoying a game of golf on our first-class championship course.
Afterwards, while taking in the most spectacular views of the course from our far-reaching balconies, you can enjoy the ambience of our top-quality bar and restaurant.

Céad Míle Fáilte (a hundred thousand welcomes) to all our visitors.

Yours in Golf,

Pat

2021 Lady Captain Margaret Bradshaw

In 1995 I was surprised to be given a set of golf clubs as a present. I decided to give golf a go and joined Craddockstown in 1996.

So began my 25year challenge to improve my game. It’s an ongoing mission.
I have seen Craddockstown mature and develop into the super course and facility we have today. Representing Craddockstown in inter-club competition over the years has been great fun and given me many friends.

This year in 2021 I’m happy to step into the role of Lady Captain.

The challenges are many in the aftermath of Covid.19. Now with the introduction of Golf Ireland and the World Handicapping System, it’s an interesting and exciting time for golf clubs.

Together with Captain Pat Brown, I have signed the Charter of Women in Golf on behalf of Craddockstown. I look forward to playing my part in achieving our commitments and promoting our game and our club for all our members now and into the future.

Yours in Golf

Margaret
