Local Rules

(1) OUT OF BOUNDS RULE 27-1
(a) Beyond all course boundaries (fences/hedges/walls etc)
(b) Beyond a line of White Stakes (practice chipping /putting greens, car park area, club house
area, all practice areas, etc)

(2) STONES IN BUNKERS RULE 24-1
Are movable obstruction and may be removed without penalty

(3) IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS RULE 24-2
Manhole covers, fixed sprinkler heads, pathways , bridges( Outside of Hazards), telegraph/ESB
poles, stay wires, distance plates in centre of fairways, toilet on the 11th, ball washers, seats,
litter bins, all fixed signage, life buoy stands in water hazards, flagpoles, bell on 4th hole,
equipment cleaning bay behind 18th Green.

(4) SHRUBBERIES
All shrubberies enclosed by sleepers and the tree enclosed by the wall on the 4th hole are
deemed to be immovable obstructions. Play is prohibited and the player MUST proceed under
RULE 24-2b. All other shrubberies are an integral part of the Course.

(5) STAKED TREES
If a staked tree interferes with a players stance or the area of intended swing the player MUST
lift the ball without penalty and drop in accordance with RULE 24-2b

(6) TEE BOXES/GREENS
If a ball comes to rest on any tee box or any green other than the hole in play the player MUST
lift the ball and drop in accordance with RULE 24-2b

(7) POWER LINES
If a ball strikes an elevated power or cable the stroke MUST be cancelled and replayed without
penalty, in accordance under RULE 20-5

(8) 13th HOLE LAKE
If there is a doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the water hazard(lake) the player may play
another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options under RULE 26-1
If the original ball is found outside the water hazard, the player MUST continue play with it.
If original ball is found in the water hazard, the player may play the original ball as it lies or
continue with the provisional ball under RULE 26-1
If the original ball is not found or identified within the 5 minute search period, the player MUST
continue with the Ball played provisionally.

(9) DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
For all play on this course a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures DISTANCE ONLY. If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge, or measure other conditions that might affect their play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc) the played is deemed to be in breach of RULE 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

(10) PRACTICE RULE 7
The following exceptions to RULE 7 apply. The Committee permits re-entry for designated competitions:• During Open Week• Drive-In Day• Evening Mixed Competitions• And other competitions as designated by the CommitteeThis permits players to practice the course on these competition days, e.g. play competition of the day and play in Mixed or other such competition in the evening.

NOTE: Other local rules may be posted on the Notice Boards and around the 1st tee and Pro Shop from time to time.

GENERAL PENALTY for Breach of Local Rules – Stroke Play - 2 Strokes’ Match Play – Loss of Hole 

COURSE ETIQUETTE

SLOW PLAY:  Avoid ( if delayed call those behind through) DIVOTS:   Replace or with black bags use seeded sand from sandboxes around course BUNKERS:   Rake

BUNKER RAKES:   Place gently in bunker 

FLAGSTICKS:   Place gently on the ground 

PITCHMARKS:   Repairs yours and any others 

TEE BOXES:   Use golf tees where possible & repair divots, use sandboxes 


DISTANCE MARKERS
Are on the fairways and to the side in metres to the centre of the green 

BLUE 200m

RED  150m

YELLOW  100m  


PIN POSITIONS

RED towards back of green 

BLUE towards centre of green

YELLOW towards front of green
